Emig Mansion

Emig Mansion is located in Emigsville, PA (about 10 minutes north of York, PA)

The farm was purchased by Valentine Emig in 1810. In 1850Valentine's grandson, John Emig Junior built the home that is known as Emig Mansion.

The mansion is in the York area of the Civil war when General Robert E. Lee sent troops to capture the Capital city, Harrisburg. In Wrightsville Confederate troops attacked Union militia. Under the command of Colonel French the 17th Virginia Calvary came to the Emig Mansion on June 28th and occupied the mansion and surrounding grounds.
